Free screenwriting software

Many of you might already own a copy of MS Word, write in LaTeX or Emacs. For writers looking for a free alternative, here's a short list:

Besides working with software that supports the writer in giving respect to the special process of writing a screen, you should also make yourself familiar with the proper screenplay format. There are some style templates for common word processors that will give you a first impression. But remember: don't get too esoteric about formatting (what easily might happen). It should be about the content!
